When I work with my younger kids (1st and 2nd graders) we do something called "mini directions". I'm discovering that the kids really only get exposed to Microsoft Word in the lab with their regular classroom teachers. So whenever we start a new program (like Finale, Publisher or Powerpoint) there is often a steep learning curve.

It was great meeting you at IMEA! Hope we get a chance to get together and share more ideas!
The laptop pilot program consists of 50 teachers who received new macbooks at the beginning of the school year to use in the classroom. We have access to the school server at home and are able to do our grades on the laptops. This all helps with doing work at home.
I don't know what else you would like to know. We are required to go to meetings once a month and at the end of the year we will present to the board how we used the technology. Does that help at all? Let me know, I would be happy to answer more questions.
