Music Teachers that are Techies
GarageBand materials and Tech Survey for Music Teachers
The purpose of this blog post is twofold: 1) To announce that I will soon have self-paced instructional materials available, free to share, to help music teachers learn how to use GarageBand, and 2) To ask for help with an online survey.
The survey is part of a Front-end Analysis for a course I'm taking in Instructional Design and the results will guide how I design the instructional materials. The purpose of this instruction is to introduce adult learners to GarageBand software and provide guided practice in completing basic tasks: creating files, basics of recording, using loops and software instruments to create simple compositions, editing, and exporting songs for web and CD. A smattering of iTunes will be included, as compositions will be burned to CD.
The more info I have about the needs of my potential learners, the more effectively I can design instructional materials to fill their needs. That's where you come in. I am hoping that some of you will have a few minutes to complete the survey - there are 17 questions and most are multiple choice. The other three questions are short answer so it should go very quickly.
Thank you, in advance, for your help with the survey. This one-semester class is squished into 8 weeks and this survey is just one part of the big project, so time is short. The survey will be open until 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1st. Here is the address of the survey:
