Tell me more about what exactly you are trying to do and why. I'm sure there's a way to do it for little or no money but I don't quite understand what you'd like the end product to look like.

I'd go with Groovy Shapes and some sets of good headphones. Shapes is really well done and my 1st graders can run it completely on their own.

I don't know what grade level you are working with but for elementary teachers this site has a great list of resources. http://mustech.pbworks.com/

I also think you should be able to justify having board with out having to buy any extra software. We use the SmartBoard in my room to work on websites as a class. There are so many great sites about the instruments and composers that are interact...

About Me:
I teach k-8 vocal music in rural Illinois. I hit 4 buildings and drive LOTS of miles to do my job. I love tech so much that I volunteered to have music in the computer lab at my 1-3 grade building when we ran out of classrooms. They thought I was "taking one for the team" but I knew I was going to use those computers and NEVER have to sign up to use them!

Needed: One vocal teacher!

We have an opening for a Vocal music teacher for grades 4-12 at my district. If you know anyone who might be interested please put them in contact with our Superintendent, Larry Eyre.

I would also be happy to answer any questions.

No new computer program meltdowns!

When I work with my younger kids (1st and 2nd graders) we do something called "mini directions". I'm discovering that the kids really only get exposed to Microsoft Word in the lab with their regular classroom teachers. So whenever we start a new program (like Finale, Publisher or Powerpoint) there is often a steep learning curve.

To help relieve the stress of a long string of directions we use "mini directions". We start out at our "smart seats" which is everyone gathered as a group on

Hello!! It was a worship conference for contemporary worship. (As a semi-random comment here, I really think we need to convince my mom the contemporary worship would be ok to have once in a while at Woodworth) I'm not sure if I told you or not, but I've been helping out with the contemporary service here at church. We've been slowly trying to get it going here. I really love singing for it, but mostly I'm an organizational type person. I choose the music, get the powerpoint people on board and run rehearsals, but I don't always get to sing (with a mic, that is) My favorite part of the conference was a thing on stage presence....I never realized how important it really is. How is life with you?? Things at IW good?

Brenda,
The laptop pilot program consists of 50 teachers who received new macbooks at the beginning of the school year to use in the classroom. We have access to the school server at home and are able to do our grades on the laptops. This all helps with doing work at home.
I don't know what else you would like to know. We are required to go to meetings once a month and at the end of the year we will present to the board how we used the technology. Does that help at all? Let me know, I would be happy to answer more questions.
